Fine tune the hand that feels for footing when all that once held strong gives way to the bulge now echoing away. We know so little of the stars shooting past our backdoor, but still we have to make a choice.

There were always other ways to cast your net into the sea. There would always be depths unplundered and plump slippery prey to fuel you on. There would always be those who believed that food was what you hunted. But the winds and the river know your secret and so do I.

Fighting wins the fall of blows upon blows and I am fallen. I feel trapped in this. I don’t have the wisdom of you. I crave a pausing. I crave the sword sometimes.

All my battles are metaphors and this loneliness is a lie. I sit in climate controlled party love country watching the carnage in my mind. Whatever cuts me cuts from within.
