How exciting that this is an actual written story of sorts. It feels so good to stumble onto nice writing on livejournal, like the old days. This makes me realize how much I miss that community of writers and thinkers. Thank you for giving me a piece of the old days to feel again. I miss the motivation to write so much....

I've been around here for a number of years myself, being as long in the tooth as I am, and I use it primarily for telling stories from my life. It seems the only real motivator for getting me to actually make the commitment to sit down and devote the time to write on a regular basis, though, has been the writing community, LJ Idol. I don't love that there is an element of competition to this community, as I'd much rather a group which puts forth a communal environment for hosting and sharing stories of all kinds, but this is the group I stumbled into more than 10 years ago, and it's been responsible for prodding me into most of the writing I've done during that time.
We are currently midway through a regular season right now, and I couldn't say when the next one after this will start up, but if you'd like to become connected to this collective and review some of the other entries, they are currently posted in the very next entry on this journal Submitted for Your ( ... )
