There was so much here that I hadn't heard about, and I what I did know was already bad enough! This is absolutely awful.

members of the Minneapolis Police Department ARE NOT under the command of the Mayor or the police chief.
Including this, which is unfathomable. Answerable to no one! It's no wonder Minneapolis is considering de-funding the police department. Fire everyone and start over, with a better class of police and with accountability to a leader outside themselves.

Ugh, this all makes me so angry. But thank you for shining a light on SO MANY hidden issues that need to be uncovered.

i'm so glad you friended me! this is a wonderful, in-depth article about these events. should be required reading! up until a year ago, i lived near the burned-down gas station on 46th & hiawatha for 20 years. those are my streets, my neighborhood. and i am ashamed.
