Alcuin was a little startled at first, but then relaxed when he heard Mohinder's voice. He turned towards him, a sheepish expression already on his face. "I have to apologize for my behavior earlier, it was unforgivably rude..."
"It was only a very little bit rude and not at all unforgivable." Mohinder saw no reason to pretend that Alcuin's behavior had not been up to his usual exquisite standards. It would only lead to protests on both sides and he would ultimately concede. There were far more important matters on his mind.
"I was... taken aback," Alcuin sighed, by way of explanation. "And I thought it best to take a moment to process the situation privately lest I make things worse for all involved." He bit his lip. "I hope I didn't ruin your conversation."
"Alcuin," Mohinder said, shaking his head softly and reaching for Alcuin's hands. "You can't imagine that I'm upset with you?" He glanced in the general direction of 'out', Alcuin's treehouse, the statue of Elua, his own hut, anywhere but here. "Walk with me."
