Kirk made a habit of counting to ten before he made any decisions. It was not a habit he himself had decided upon, but rather one that Spock had forced him to start. His rash decision making had more often than not gotten both himself and Spock in more trouble than perhaps they would have liked.
It was now that Kirk remembered Spock’s words; now, on the verge of ecstasy when he could barely see straight much less count - he bit his lip and tried to remember what came after three, his hips bucking wildly against Spock’s.
Oh, too late.
