Speaking from personal experience, this advice/direction/instruction is right on.

Being open and honest with one another, even if it might cause some pain, is the path to the strongest of relations. Your honesty is a sign of selfless love.

Good for you my friend! Talking openly with your girlfriend will mean the difference between being with someone, and truly knowing that person. I wish you luck; you deserve to be happy. Remember the hardest part of all is being honest and telling that person who you really are as opposed to what you think they will want to hear. Be strong and your relationship will be stronger for it...

Thanks. I really value my current relationship more than any other relationship I've ever had, and I'm willing to share everything even though it might be painful. Sometimes I'm ashamed of who I am, but I would rather show my real self than put up any fascade. If we can survive through our issues by being open and honest I think we may have a great chance at a lasting relationship.
