My stupid mouth

Oh, it's another social casualty
Score one more for me
How could I forget?
Mama said "think before speaking"
No filter in my head
Oh, what's a girl to do
I guess she better find one soon
...
Oh I'm never speaking up again
Starting now

--- My Stupid Mouth, John Mayer

Stupid stupid.  So many verses about setting a guard over your mouth... so few ( Read more... )

I never think before speaking! I guess that's one of the reasons I love intarwebz communication so much ... I type, then read over it. It saves me from getting into trouble (as much).

So, to randomly add onto this, I've been wanted to get a teaching for some time. I dediced to do it today. It's called "Watch Your Mouth". I haven't listened to it, yet, but here's the description:

nd is an exhortation to His people to be very careful with the power that He has given us ( ... )

I REALLY wish one could edit comments. I didn't copy all of the description. You, however, get to have a post with many, many comments. Nearly all of them are me.

Good post, Kare-Bear. I love that John Mayer song.
Good input, Steve. As time goes on, I do more of my communication via the 'net, and the ability to "save for later review,", "edit," and/or "delete" has saved me from causing needless pain and misunderstanding countless times. The challenge is to allow the Holy Spirit to provide these same functions when I open my mouth to speak. Thanks for posting the link to that teaching. Could use its wisdom and encouragment, so I'll give it a listen sometime this week.

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight,

I thought this page was cute.
http://www.spellweb.com/

For example, Karen vs. Sliced Bread:

1,420,000 votes for Sliced Bread
32,000,000 votes for Karen

The Web decides (courtesy of Google) that Karen is more popular.
