Anne of Great Fables

I went to the Tattered Cover in Denver tonight to see my favorite author, Anne Lamott.  She was as brilliant and raw and funny as I had hoped.  It was a fantastic evening and I was able to get a couple books signed for my mom and I.  I tried to think of something clever to say upon meeting her and failed rather horribly, but she smiled anyway, ( Read more... )

I felt that way when I met Brennan Manning. The problem is you need a whole day with them just to settle down enough to even make a rational statement.

I think I'm adopting her prayers. :)

Yeah, I pretty much sounded like a fool when I met Mick Foley. I'm sure you made a better impression with Anne Lamott than I did with Mick.

i'm excited to hear that you met your favorite author. i had the same experience a few years ago with donald miller. he was my favorite for about 5 years. so let me start out by saying i'm not here to rain on your parade. i just wish someone had done this for me, back when i was in love with donald miller ( ... )
