Is it just me, or have places stopped putting out as many coupons?  My mom has mentioned that the weekly coupon book has gone to bi-weekly at best, and I'm not getting the envelopes full of coupons in the mail as often as I used to ( Read more... )

I think part of the reason is the internet, they can just put it all up there and let people put them up on demand. Don't know if they use it in your area, but try www.moneymailer.com for coupons!

That is one part, but the internet and the phenomenon of coupons on the internet has been around for a while. I'm noticing a change in the past three months. My mailbox is not clogged with them as much, and the Red Eye isn't coming with them every week. My mom's newspapers aren't including them on a weekly basis as they had before. I just wonder if the economic changes in the past six months has prompted businesses to cut back on the coupons.

hmmm...interesting. It is funny that you post this, cause I have noticed the same thing as well. I think that due to a majority of the population using coupons to save money, perhaps companies have cut back. I have noticed that a lot of stores in STC will no longer accept internet coupons anymore, due to fraudulant behavior.
