So I've decided I would like to get a new digital camera with some of my pending tax refund.  I've been researching a bunch of them, and it seems the more time I spend researching them, the more confused and indecisive I become.  When I read the reviews and come across some that say things like, "This camera is so difficult, and doesn't take ( Read more... )

Wait, where does it say that it takes AA batteries? On the Amazon site it says it comes with "Lithium-ion Battery Pack NB-5L, Battery Charger CB-2LX."

I've looked at reviews all over the place, and it seems that generally people like it, and the main problem is the on/off button, which is a little ridiculous.

Oh, and thanks for the description of the memory cards. I was wondering if MMC was an older version or just something I didn't know about. I found an SDHC 4GB card on Amazon for $10, so I'll probably go with that.

Whew, ok. I do NOT want the AA battery thing again. I hate having to carry those around with me, and change them every 20-30 pictures in my super-old camera. I think ahead pretty well, so I can charge the battery when I know I'll be going somewhere that I'll be taking a lot of pictures, and according to the reviews, it seems to last a couple hundred pictures, which will be more than what I need.

Thanks for the help, Lisa! I really appreciate it! I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy it.

I like Canons. My HD video camera is a canon and I love it. The end.

I bought my camera based on consumer reports reviews too. I was able to get it much cheaper online than the price consumer reports listed, too. Beach Camera online has some great prices.
