I got a bit lazy towards the end and only experimented with coloring and cropping instead of trying to make a more complex icon... But that may not be such a bad thing, actually... I'm quite pleased with the result of most of these icons.

I just opened the file. It has 15 layers including the base picture a lot of selective coloring, curves and color balance and the occasional color fill. I'm a bit too lazy to write it all down seeing that the coloring would most likely not look good on other icons. (It'd turn the faces yellow), but I'll try to describe what I did:
First I lightened the base up (a lot, but without using any contrast i only used color fills on soft light and a screen layer), then I used curves and color balance to give it a greenish tint. The curves also helped to restore a bit of the contrast. I mainly used the dots in the left corner that are already there and moved them up a bit. After that I used a lot of selective coloring to raised the yellows (and still added a bit of cyan in the reds). At the end I copied the flattened result on a new layer used a light motion blur and erased Ron and Hermione.

I like your Icon btw. Gaspard'd be a good looking Teddy.

I somehow didn't read much fanfiction after DH. My HP-love somehow got a bit overshadowed by twilight. But still, it's HP, right? I'll never truly get away from it. I'd love to read your fic. =)
