Shopping blues

We(me & a colleague) bought a mic from a certain shop in Bangalore and realised we had bought the wrong one. We wanted to buy an omni-directional mic, but ended up buying a uni-directional one. Yep. Consumer courts, at least in AP, do their job judiciously, so you have a fair chance at success if it comes to that.
But I see this attitude of if-it-doesn't-work-ha-ha only in India, and it sucks. If I ever end up killing someone, it'll be probably a restaurant guy who serves me some shit and insists that I pay for it.

According to the law, he is required to state prominently during the sale of each good that "Returned goods will not be accepted" or anything to that extent. In Addition, he should have a sign up behind the counter (as well as in other prominent parts of the store - shelves, walls, etc.) stating the same. The Sign should be 'prominent' (LARGE font - 200pt font) and should read in English (bold uppercase text), Hindi and the local language for that area ( ... )
