So, I made the horrid mistake of entering "Star Ocean 3" into the search bar in LJ and looking at a few communities.

So what do I find...? There are many communities linked from this one called starocean3.

One should remember, though, that ultimately role-playing should be about having fun, and if that fun doesn't involve canon rules,... well. It's just one of many fandom leisure activities we can participate in that doesn't matter outside of its own sphere.

That said, there are limits. At least a bow to canon would be nice. Also, after the antics of the SCB crew, it would help if the people role-playing at least acknowledge that their opinion doesn't constitute fact, and no one is obligated to like it. ^^ But RP can take on a life of its own, and I don't think anything is wrong with that. Nor do I think anything is wrong with crossovers. In a lot of cases, it's impossible to find places to RP closer to canon, so what can you do? What if your favorite character is taken everywhere you go except Phoenix, or Gate, or whatever? Budehuc wouldn't allow me to app for Sarah, so I had to do it elsewhere.

Budehuc was a lot of fun though. I'm sorry it died. The people I met there seemed pretty nice. And... not crazy. :P
