"What about you, Kotetsu? Do you have any dreams?"
"She'll never call me cool ever..." He said to himself while leaning back on the couch. Kotetsu sighed, he was tired from the party and the weight on his shoulders was getting heavier by the day. 'I can't hide this much longer' those written words they stained his heart with harsh realization that he was losing his abilities and with that was losing everything that stood around him.
He sat up, closed the book and absentmindedly grabbed one of the bottles at the end. 'This will do...' He thought to himself as he looked at the label, He had so many different brands scattered all over the place that he hardly remembered what stood where. Looking around he noticed all the empty bottles as well. 'I should really clean up someday...' Taking he sip he smiled afterward. 'Well if I am losing my powers I'll definitely have the time to do so.' A bad joke he later figured.

Kotetsu had never been a man who liked change. It had taken him long to get used to having a partner like Barnaby, he had thought of quitting and starting over until he realized that Barnaby was not such a bad guy after all. However now was a completely different story; rain was pouring down on him, he smelled of garbage and in the distance he was hearing the news. Opening his eyes and listening in he found out the hard way that Lunatic had killed someone and seeing that person's face on screen made chills run down his spine. The man he was trying to arrest the other night had been killed. He could have saved him, but he failed.
Reality was crashing down on him; he had failed to arrest a normal person, his powers were leaving him, he couldn't be a hero any longer. He couldn't deny it any longer. He looked up seeing the track overhead and noticing how lucky he was that the dumpster was there. If it hadn't would he had died? Like Legend, would he have died?
Just thinking about Legend made him want to curl up again. Legend had lost his powers also, just like he was losing them now. Most of his saves were staged and he had died. If he continued he might end up the same. He finally got the courage to sit up, Kotetsu felt cold, ached and tired. He couldn't do this anymore and when he looked up he could see Barnaby's face on the screen. His face dropped and he started to draw circles with the ring on his finger.
"Tomoe, what should I do...?"

"He's still not here?" Barnaby asked his employer. Lloyds wasn't looking pleased either, he had made clear that the two of them had an interview scheduled this afternoon but only Barnaby decided to show up. Angry Lloyds closed his phone and cursed, as he passed he placed a hand on Barnaby's shoulder.
"We can't stall any longer, you'll have to do it alone. I should've known he would pull something like this." Barnaby watched as Lloyds left the dressing room and followed him swiftly. It wasn't that old man's style to remain to quiet, Kotetsu should have called him or something. The interview went smoothly and quick and afterward Barnaby dialed Kotetsu's number.
"The number you are trying to reach is currently unavailable.." Impossible. Kotetsu wouldn't leave his phone off like that. He was underway to the gym to see if maybe the other heroes had seen him.

"You should prepare yourself for what is to come, what are you going to do afterward?" He whispered to himself when he entered his house early in the morning. The walk home had been long but Kotetsu had a lot to think about. He dropped his clothing as he passed through the hallway, kicking away the bottles that were in the way of his path to the shower.
"What should I do...?" He said with a taint of anger as he stood there, he didn't feel energetic enough to even wash himself properly. He walked out with a towel around his waist and another around his neck as he dried off his face, he walked to the array of pictures he had presented in the living room and kneeled down in front of them, his wet hands grabbing the one of himself, Tomoe and a very young Kaede.
"Somehow I now think you were the real hero all the time, Tomoe..." He said while leaning his forehead against the glass, inhaling deeply as tears stained the corners of his eyes. Kotetsu looked up again at an older Kaede. "...I can never live up to you, I could never be a real father to her and now I am breaking the one promise I made... Tomoe, what should I do... I can't be a hero, if I can't do that then I can't do anything..." He whipped his arm across his eyes to get rid of the tears and snot that was pressing in his nose. "Everything I have fought for..." My friends, my idols, my promises, my daughter and my partner. They're all slipping away from me. "I wish you would just hit me again or something and tell me it will be alright..."
