Yeah, I think both Ravenclaw and Slytherin fit Merlin.
(I might be a bit biased though, since I'm in Ravenclaw, too - officially got sorted by Pottermore. *G*)

I never got around to Pottermore - is it fun? But hey, I always identified myself as a Ravenclaw anyway :D

Well, Merlin is certainly cunning enough to pass for Slytherin, but he never seemed particularly ambitious (Morgana beats him to it). And he's the only one around in Camelot to do actual research once in a while. Plus the animal motifs match better that way.

It's possible I'm thinking too hard about this though
