Wow, we cropped them exactly the same way. That's so weird! I actually like the color effects on yours better. If you don't mind me asking, what effects did you use? I used these layers (from top to bottom):
- #C61611 (Color Dodge, 13% opacity) - #BB8921 (Color Dodge, 10% opacity) - A copy of the original (Soft Light, 100% opacity) - Hue/Saturation adjustment layer (set to be completely desaturated, Overlay, 60% opacity) - #F4E1DA (Multiply, 60% opacity) - And the original (I believe I played with the curves first, too)
I'd love to learn how you reached your end result!
Thanks for sharing too. Interesting color choices! This was neat, it was like a tutorial. :P I'll be trying some of those colors some time in the future.

Anyway, it's been a while since I made mine, but I believe this is what I did (in order like yours):
duplicate base, soft light 100%
new layer, 6D9EF6 soft light 100%
new layer, F5989D multiply 40%
new layer, FFF799 multiply 30%
new layer, 060024 exclusion 100%
duplicate base, soft light 100%
duplicate base, screen 100%
base layer
And sharpen, etc. Hope that helps! But I really like the coloring on yours too--thanks for sharing the steps. :)
