Take it from a professional student(7 years as an undergrad and counting ^_^), as far as filler classes go, an introductory literature class is a great choice. When I took intro to SciFi, I was introduced to one of my favourite authors - William Gibson(I'd be quite surprised if Neuromancer isn't on the reading list). Also, I had tons of fun with the term paper, writing a commie wank-festMarxist analysis of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine, and generally pulling an A out of my ass in the course. Soooo... basically, have fun, take it easy, do the readings(even if you don't think you like a book when you first pick it up, it'll probably grow on you), and I wish you good luck!

If you don't mind a bit of typing, could you tell me what all has been assigned as course material? It might have a few suggestions for my personal reading list...
