I just got home from practicum (think of it at student teaching). I love my Wednesday mornings just because I get to spent 7am-1pm at Cherokee Heights Middle School teaching and helping my 6th graders learn. Having just turned 22 I can say I am definitely having one of those moments. For me it is weird to stop and think that i graduated high school 4 years ago. I am happy with what I have done though and there is sooooo much more to do.

That has got to be nuts being around kids who don't know any of those references in Apples to Apples (best party game ever?) But I think that is the beauty in youth. You never know what each of those kids will decide to push further in on and try to learn more about. Maybe one will be a film major and realize that Hitchcock was the original master of horror and suspense.

that's a really good point. god i love kids.

one of the things I love so much about being a teacher is knowing that five or so years from now they'll be looking back and going "hey, remember that day in math class when you stole my tech deck and i punched you in the face?"
