[ Alto has done a lot of errands in the name of "scouting clients", as he put it. All he was trying to accomplish was getting a better layout of the city, figure out where his escape options are, and maybe find some like-minded people (since with those guards he won't be able to handle them alone). ]

[ But all of those thoughts, like before, grind to a half when he sees an all-too-familiar green-haired girl sitting on the bench across the empty street. ] R-- R-...

[ He almost says "there's nothing wrong with your memory", but... ] No, I felt the same way. That's why I was surprised to find Sheryl, because she got here before I did but I remember talking to her not too long before showing up here. How the hell they could have snuck her out like that is beyond me.

Maybe... they took us all at the same time and...

[ And what? She frowns as she reaches for an explanation. ]

They could've... drugged us... and you two woke up first.

[all_for_the_sky]

[ Alto makes a face. ] Ugh. I don't want to think about that. Too much of this already makes no sense at all, but to think they'd go that far. [ He puts a hand to her forehead. ] You feel fine, physically, right? I think after that long we'd all be groggy or something.

[ Ranka nods. Her body's felt just fine since she got here. ]

Just a little when I woke up, then I was fine...

[ Should she mention that dream? ]

[all_for_the_sky]

Good. I hope that isn't the case then, with the drugs. [ Alto moves to the side a bit, coaxing her along. ] Come on. Let's sit, and you can tell me whatever they told you so far. I'll see where I can fill in the gaps.

[ Ranka glances back at the restaurant, trying to guess at the time in her head. She doesn't want to go making anyone angry by missing work after just a few days... ]

Um... I actually think my break's almost over, so I think we should stay close.

[all_for_the_sky]

Ugh, really? Damn. [ He sighs, irritated that there's still some kind of protocol to follow. ] ...no, I can't get you in trouble. They don't have you doing anything... weird, right?

[ She shakes her head. ]

Waiting tables, just like back home. It's not that bad, really.

Good. They'd better keep it that way. [ Alto says, with a huff.

Then he holds out his hand, palm-up. ] Do you have your network device on you? The cheap box.

Um...

[ She looks at his hand a bit dubiously. ]

That thing? I know what it's supposed to do... but I left it in my room. It's harder to use than what we have on Frontier.

[ That hand? Threads up into his bangs. ] Oi, okay...

[ He takes his own out, flips it open to the tiny pad and pencil, scribbles something down and then tears the page off and hands to her. ] Here. This is the number. I figured out that each of these is unique, so when you see messages from this number, that'll be me. [ Tucking his Fansuwoth away, again. ] When you get back to your room, text message me over your number so I have it, okay? [ A small smile. ] Or you could just call, if you feel like it. I've been having a hell of a time sleeping.

[ Ranka takes it, folding it carefully and slipping it into her zori. Hopefully it would stay there long enough for her to get it somewhere that she wouldn't lose it. ]

That's your number... I'll have to get Sheryl's too.

[ She smiles up at Alto. ]

With the two of us here, you don't have to be lonely at all though.

Oh! It's... [ A pause. ] --crap, I never got it before the guards split us up. [ Another reason to hate how that went down.

He blinks at her, but nods after a moment. ] Right. We all need to stick together. [ Alto brings up his fist in a gesture that shows his determination. ] We'll show them that they can't keep us down.

[nyan_moe]

[ Feeling considerably more confident, she raises her own fist. They can definitely do this together. ]

I'll just get it later, then. Now that we're all here, we'll be fine.

[ Atta girl. He smiles a little better and nods. ] Right. We'll get through it, one way or another. [ Alto stepped back and looked toward the shop. ] I'll let you go for now, but I'll be in touch real soon, okay?
