It was quite an eventful week for Kallen as far as curses and new arrivals were concerned. Rather that to think about what had transpired, however, she decided to take a long walk and explore her district some more, if only to clear her head out of any lingering thoughts and remember new places to visit. Better to go outside in the fresh air than to spend the rest of her days cooped up in Nannai, listening to the sounds of gossipy servants and housemates. If only there was a dojo in Aster so she could use a punching bag to just jab the stress away. No way was she heading all the way to Komainu for that, not at this hour anyway

Kiyoha was on her way to the nearby Bira-Bira, since spring was coming soon enough that she would need the appropriate kanzashi for the season. Perhaps it was because there was really no care for strictness to the oiran tradition here, and for good reason, but she felt like she should observe them to at least make up for everything else. It also had the advantage of attracting some of the richest clients to visit the ukiyo who were drawn to that tradition.
And even luckier, one of her better clients lined her pockets to take care of those expenses.
She was only passing by the Cafe, not really giving it so much of a glance since she had little taste for Chinese food or culture, but the shout drew her attention. Kiyoha looked over, then spread her lips into a small, but genuine smile.
"Kallen-san, what a pleasure to see you her," she said, then turned and bowed lightly, "Are you out for an eventful morning as well?"
A small grin appeared on her face in realization for two things: one, it was Kiyoha standing right in front of her, and two, she was all better. The last time she had spoken to the tayuu was rather difficult, with the latter being tied up and punished for her deed. Kallen shook her head slightly before bowing in return, no time to dwell on the past and worry. It was over and Kiyoha was free.
"It's really been a while, hasn't it?" She asked with a friendly smile, smoothing down her red yukata and her black scarf. It wasn't too chilly out but she liked to keep herself regardless, also the scarf was a beautiful reminder of the person who gave it to her. "I guess you could say that. It gets really boring staying inside all day long."
A brief pause and then, "How have you been lately?"
"Busy, busy," she chimed lightly, and with a tone that seemed to imply that it was a rather automatic answer. Not that it was untrue, but it was a question often asked by clients. "After all the fiascoes of the past month, I've been working hard every day and wishing for good luck."
Though, she hadn't been entirely unhappy. Unlike most entertainers here, she enjoyed the company of her clients, and had the luxury of choosing which ones she slept with, here. It made her exclusive for that kind of engagement, but it made her all the more popular.
"What about you, Kallen-san? Bored, it seems, but I hope you've been keeping yourself busy with something."
"This place is in a dire need of luck," Kallen replied idly, playing around with the ends of her scarf. It was soft and nicely made, she ought to thank Lelouch some more even if he didn't necessarily need it. As for the luck comment, she could definitely use one to continue dealing with any upcoming curses.
"I guess you could say that," she said with a small smile before it faded away. The look of weariness took over her face as she sighed lightly. "Busy with clients, busy with household chores, busy with... everything, really."
And busy with dealing certain people who weren't her clients, but that was neither here nor there. She will leave that part out for sure.
Kiyoha studied Kallen's expressions for a moment. The okaa-san of Tamagiku had commented to her once that part of this profession was being able to read a person's expressions accurately and quickly. Of course, for clients it was with the purpose of then changing yourself in a moment to better attract them, but in this normal situation, she certainly couldn't help but sympathsize.
She looked down the street briefly, then back to Kallen before giving her a calm, kind smile. "Well then, would you like to take a break? We could certainly go out to lunch, or to one of the shops, on my treat."
Kallen hadn't spent time with anyone else besides the friends that she made in Ukiyo, so this would be a nice opportunity to get to know Kiyoha better. Additionally, she might learn a thing or two about the mysterious place from her.
"Sure, I don't mind taking a break at all," she replied with a friendly smile of her own, pointing to a couple of buildings from the street opposite of the café. "And hey, at least let me pay for my own things!"
She made some money for an entertainer in Nannai, not exactly a large amount, but just enough to buy more comfortable clothes and exercise equipment; a girl like her had a large interest in keeping her body in shape no matter the situation, even if piloting Knightmare Frames weren't involved. At any rate, Kallen glanced around some more for a nearby shop she and the tayuu can go to.
"That shop over there seems nice, doesn't it?" she asked with a slight tilt of a head.
