" I dream of pulling a car into a driveway and walking 20 feet to my door and putting my groceries in my house without hassle. I also dream of Food stores that have wide aisles and selection. Ahhh It's really the little things that would make me sooo happy. "

This is exactly how I started to feel when I'd had enough of city living. It was the little things that I really wanted.

Sorry the photo shoot was a bust. What did the photographer say - will she reshoot for you?

It's funny cause I've been having many of these feelings about "city life" lately. It's been 13 years and I'm just getting tired. A house w/space, spacious yard and driveway sounds so nice at times. I'm just nervous about Suburbia. Was it hard to adjust? I know you did it so I'm curious. At least I'm allowing myself to consider a move which is progress as the thought never made it very far :-)

I think the photographer felt bad as well. She did say it's not her favorite time of year to shoot. She mentioned that if she didn't get any good shots, she would be open to doing something for us in the spring.

That's funny - I was in the city just about 13 years when I left too. I didn't think it was a tough adjustment at all, but I grew up in the suburbs (I'm not sure where you did) and I really just wanted that lifestyle. Also, I was still working in the city so I didn't really miss the city itself that much. I think the hardest part was just not having the same close proximity to my friends, but when you all start settling down, you don't tend to see each other that often anyway (at least that was the case for me). I was ready to just focus on me and Craig and I didn't miss going out all the time.

I'm glad to hear your transition was an easy one. Most people I know that have moved have not moved back so that's usually a good sign :-)

It's only been just recently that things have really started to bother me. I'm sure I'll miss being close to friends and the culture and diversity the city has to offer. I guess like all things we'll have tradeoffs.

I really hope you get some good pictures out of the photo shoot. I'm always surprised by what the photog can pull out of his/her hat...they can doctor the shots and I bet you'll be thrilled with what you end up with!

I just want 1 nice photo for my Holiday cards. I was just so upset as I had such high hopes. The weather was just the curveball I did not need as I already had my hands full chasing Jackson around and asking him to sit in doorways with his legs crossed and to give us a nice smile (no easy task :-)

Hi Cheryl, I am glad you added me as a friend! Anyway, I am sorry the photoshoot was a bust. I tried taking Amelia's this week and it was SO cold. I felt like a mean mom. I hope that the photog got some good shots, you never know what they can do!

I hope you have fun at Jackson's party!

OMG, we’re all such sour pusses. I remember after my shoot complaining because it was SO FREAKING HOT. I was sweating my ass off the ENTIRE time. I can’t tell you how many times I had to *pat my forehead, wipe my mustache* and in the end you’d never have know. Then Bev went and complained as well and she ended up with some great preview images. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry. My apartment gets horrible light and we ended up with some good images. And I hope you did make it back outside. I live in the freaking “hood” and we got some great outdoor shots. Our best family photos, which is us in front of this red/plum door. First off, that street is gritty and ugly and secondly that red/plum door leads to a Uhale (sp?) type storage unit. You’d be surprised.

Glad to hear that we all complained after our shoots. You did make me feel an ounce better. She had us sitting on the sidewalk next to Scaffolding - YES Scaffolding and I'm thinking this lady is nuts?!? What the hell kind of backdrop is that. I'm still thinking she got zilch from the day, guess I should try to be a bit more optimistic (sp?)

So good to see you Cheryl!!

So bummed that the photoshoot was a bust. I know you were so looking forward to it! The weather was AWFUL on Sat. So, I could see the photographer actually rescheduling it...there wasn't that much light at all!

I was going to go to TJs on Sunday. So glad I didn't!

Good to see you at Kasia's. You looked so cute BTW!!!

The wind was seriously out of control on top of the fact it was bitter cold. I was hoping she might just call it a day but she powered onward.

TJ's was a nightmare. They said the best time to shop is 9A otherwise lines range from 10-30 minutes for check-out throughout the day. You couldn't even shop as there were 2 lines blocking the food. .Total Insanity.
