So I will be 30 next year and if I am going to be an adult I either need to have a successful relationship or a house. And frankly a 300k mortgage is easier to get than a girl my age anymore

I still wouldn't recommend home ownership. Especially when the alternative is your awesome apartment. The amount of your loan that will go towards actual equity will be quite a bit less than the difference of your new payment. you'll pay like $800 more, and get like $300 in equity. IE, financially you're way better off putting your money in your 401k.

But if you do, you should buy my house so I can get the fuck outta this place. I think the pool table would probably fit in my basement, and I'll leave all the yard tools for ya. =]
