BOOKS ROCK! imafyrebyrd October 11 2007, 22:18:19 UTC
It's really hard when they disappear so fast. Phil says it's pointless really for me to have to pay for them because they disappear so fast. Thank god for those on my "Good Friends" shelves. Those are the ones that you can read over and over again when you are in a dry spell. OMG you so totally have to come down here and see the Memphis libraries. You'd be in sheer heaven. (I think Elvis reads in a corner in one of them hahahah)

Yeah, Phil reads a bit faster than Jon, but it's still really slow and he sighs at my speed. Sometimes I TRY to savor a book but then... well... I look up and it's gone. *Sniffowl*

I am sending you a website link for you to look at. It's kinda like book heaven itself...

Maybe reading obscenely fast is a chick thing? Jon said i eat books. LOL I don't think I would eat them...unless they where made of chocolate. MMMMMMMMM chocolate books.

Hey I'm all for coming down to visit the land of Anne and Books. With you free of the work place crazy we could have all kinds of festive fun. Maybe next time beth comes down I will hide in her bags!

I've been accused of eating my books too. oohhh wouldn't that be cool if as you turned each page and finished it, it turned into edible chocolate for your savoring pleasure?? Then you could have your book and eat it too... Maybe we should find a way to make em and market em...

You know, I'm not sure I know of any guys who consume books as fast as the gals I know do. I know of a few who love to read, but not that read at warp speed. Perhaps it's an emotional thing? Hmmmmmm I just know when I'm reading, I'm there. I don't read word for word, I'm transported to the scene and it plays before my eyes.

YAYNESS! I'll tell Beth to buy bigger bags! :) But you never know maybe you'll have a chance for a vacation and you can come play. That would rock. We've a lot to catch up on.

Heyas. Saw you on thewhyfive and thought I'd drop you a line. This post reminds me of me. Do you get really depressed when you finish a great book because the ride is over? And you want to read something else but you don't want to too because nothing else appeals to you for a few days because you just want to read what you just read. LoL.

Great site that you might like...http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/.

HI :)
thewhyfive rocks! I'm new to all this LJ type stuff but that looked like fun. Yes I get bummed when I finish a book. OR when there are more then one and you go through all of them. Even if they wrap the story up nicely. I'm like WTF why stop now. IT's so wrong for good books to end. We need a never ending story lol. I try to take a brake between books to think about what I read. But more often then not the next book on my list starts calling to me and I have to start reading. I'm week like that.
Thanks for the link. I will check it out tongiht.

Hmmmmmmmmmm depends on the book imafyrebyrd October 12 2007, 05:26:18 UTC
More often than not, I just move on to the next book because I have that insatiable desire to read and feed (my brain). However, there are those rare books which I'd put in my top 10 or 20, which as I'm reading them, I am going OMG I do not want this to end, I want this to last. However, no matter how hard I try to put the breaks on, it really doesn't work and instead I end up devouring them faster. And for those special few books I find which truly stand out, I do kind of have a "moment of silence" for them (I might even be crying from the sheer emotional ride). But the next book is never far behind even then. I might wait until the next day to pick a new one up but that's about it. However, to this day, those are the books that I remember and can quote passages from and which in some cases assign an emotion to. So that when I'm feeling a certain way, that book will come to mind almost like a certain spice or taste to the tongue.
