Frustrations and good things

Well, got on the scale the morning with verve.  I noticed my clothes fitting more loosely this weekend.  Even my pyjama bottoms that were already big are now so big I have to do the "holdin' up da pants" things like da kids deez dayz.  ;)  So I expected a move on the scale.  And there was ( Read more... )

Tossed my scale. Hardly use it. Never been more successful at getting fit in my entire life.

And the Oktoberfest pictures were precious, precious I say!

Maybe contact some libraries in parts of Ireland where the language is spoken the most? They should be able to help you find some speakers/teachers. They may even sponsor programs on it.

I've also found some forums of Irish learners/speakers. One absolutely forbids English. Another has an Irish-only section. So I'll put a notice there.

Irish is a funny language. When I was there, I knew lots of people who refused to speak English when they were in the Irish-speaking areas. They have Irish-only cafes and restaurants all over the country now. I just have to find people of that same mindset. And I will. =)

My hope is that once the weather turns cold and nasty and the days get shorter, people are going to be bored inside and want to talk. Right now, they're still enjoying an Indian Summer.
