Isn't Miss Fisher Mysteries fabulous?! You should come to Melbourne on holiday and meet her, or Kerry Greenwood.

I would LOVE to come to Melbourne. I visited Syndey back in 2007, but didn't get down to Melbourne. I will make it a point someday. =)

I hope that I didn't sound callous about your bad day - I just get excited about Miss Fisher. ;)

If ever find yourself planning a trip to Melbourne, we'll roll out the welcome wagon and show you a good time.

Not at all! You change the subject to something much more pleasant, which was very effective. =)

I certainly shall look you up when I'm next in the Antipodes!

Glad you're back up and getting orders!

And I would still love to hear about hats, if you decide to make that tomorrow's post. ;-)

Well, I'll give it some thought now that I'm not having a website canary. =)

Phew!

And what is this Miss Fisher? I think I may have to check this out.

And I'm interested in what 20s-wear could be worn in the Caribbean. 30s is easy to imagine, 20s not so much.

If you have Netflix, look in the instant queue for Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries. It came up as a suggestion for me because I watch Poirot and Miss Marple.

It's set in late 1920s Melbourne Australia. The Honourable Miss Fryne (FRY-nee) Fisher has just returned to Australia from England for the purpose of making sure her sister's killer stays in jail. But then she gets involved in solving murders on her own. The books upon which they are based were written in the 1990s, but I find them to be pretty period accurate if a little too open with promiscuous sex, homosexuality, abortion, birth control and other stuff that would have turned Agatha Christie's hair white. But I like 'em.

I'm still thinking about 1920s clothes in the Caribbean. Will think more and write something up. I already have two straw cloches!

The Phryne Fisher books are still being written. Number 20 in the series was launched last month. 8->
