Good luck with her! I really hope it's just that she tweaked that leg and is being a silly greyhound about it, rather than anything more serious. Silly Melody! Do as your Mama tells you and be still so you feel better.
Ugh, I hate weather pressure pains. I snapped my kneecap in half 3yrs ago (+ surgery to remove the shrapnel) and my knee still aches in yuck weather. I hope the weather turns around soon!
That's wonderful! Maybe today is her exhaustion point and she'll be quiet for a few days. Heal, Melody, heal!!
worrying about our beloved pets is hard.....I am still giving my cat Emma her twice daily liquid antibiotic. I have to give it to her in 2 small squirts as she doesn't like the dispenser being shoved in her mouth...but she's a trouper. She seems to be doing ok for now, but I think about her all day long....hugs.
the Shadow-brat has a terribly loose tooth, is on antibiotics before they can remove it and clean the others, and is generally being a real pain in the rear. it doesn't help that i have picked up a virus.
you both have my sympathies, and i hope miss melody is back to her normal NOT annoying self soonest!
You've got money!kass_rantsDecember 8 2013, 20:02:05 UTC
Our sympathies. Sick doggies and owners are never fun, even when there's nothing really to worry about.
Mei has been very quiet and normal today. I disappeared back to bed today around 10am because my head hurt so badly and she only really yipped around noon, which was legitimate going out time. It's nearly 4pm now and she's due her pill, but she's not being bratty or rammy at all. So I hope that either she's feeling less pain or that she's learned that hopping around doesn't help (ideally both).
I'm very sorry to hear Melody isn't well. When we had trouble keeping weight on Philo in the months before the end, we started just spoiling him silly with meat.
We'd buy big packs of frozen chicken, and boil it and strip off the bones and cartilage, and shred the meat and skin. Then we'd boil the stock down to jelly and he'd get big servings of meat and jelly.
That, plus the hot dogs (and smoked salmon for treats) was what he lived on for five months.
Sorry, long story. You stirred up some memories.
Basically, I recommend more meat (and possibly less lean).
The condition itself? No clue. I was gobsmacked when exploratory surgery found Philo had lymphoma in his liver, etc. So I'm no expert.

This morning, it's so stormy that my head is killing me. If her leg hurts as bad as my head does, I'm surprised she's laying here comfortably now.
She ate most of her breakfast and is now laying on the rug with the boys, claiming the best dog blankets. So so far so good today. =)
