"You're always welcome in one of my beds."
He couldn’t believe that he’d said it aloud. What in the hell was he thinking?
She looked up at him.
“In a manner of speaking.”
They traded hesitant smiles.
She didn’t end up in just any bed. The President of the Twelve Colonies was in HIS.
He felt like he was 16 again. How far could he go?
Snuggling up behind her, he tested the waters and invaded her space.
And poked her in the lower back.
“Bill, please. Your elbow.”
He smiled in the dark.
“That’s not my elbow.”
Time stopped.
