Saul watched Bill shave. An abandoned bowl of noodles on the end table caught his eye. He reached over and picked up Bill’s chopsticks.
The blade nicking his skin, Bill winced. “Frak.”
Rinse razor. Grab towel. Wipe face.
“There are moments. And before you know it, in a split second your life changes forever. Before you know it, you’re someone else.” He spotted his jacket on the chair. “Get off my jacket.”
Saul leaned forward. “Are you eating this?” he mumbled, his mouth full of Bill’s half eaten noodles.
“Not any more.”
“And you’ve been wearing it on your sleeve since the first day you met her. You know it and so do I.” Saul studied his friend. “The further out you are, the harder it is to turn around. Once you’re gone, it won’t be easy to make your way back.”
Suddenly Tigh stopped with the noodles. His single eye shifted nervously back and forth. Where the hell was that coming from? The strange melody haunted him. He shook his head.
“Think Roslin’s finally ready to board the Love Train with ya? I may only have one eye, but I’m not blind. Neither is anyone else. It never was much of a secret, you and Roslin. Except to you and Roslin.” Saul cocked his head. “Do you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
Things will never be the same again.
Never be the same again.
Never be the same again.
“The frakkin’ music!”
