The dead planet below was too much.
She’d fallen apart, sent him away. She was lost. But so was he.
They were all lost.
What now?
Was this their destiny?
She entered his quarters.
His jacket hung on a chair.
He sat on the couch, a drink and his glasses on the coffee table.
“Bill?” She reached for a lamp.
“No,” he said quietly.
Barely together herself, she sat down beside him in the darkness. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” he lied.
His eyes betrayed him.
She could see Dee.
Taking his hand, she laced her fingers with his and squeezed tightly.
