Swept
“You lied to me. You were never going to reschedule your treatment. In fact, you stopped them altogether. If you didn’t want me to know you stopped taking your meds, you should have flushed the pills down the head, not swept them into the trash.”
“I’m going to die, Bill. The treatments aren’t working. I want to live whatever time I have left on my own terms.”
“I don’t want to talk about this.”
“It’s not about what you want. It’s about what I need.”
“What do you need, Laura?”
“I need to know you’ll be okay when I’m gone.”
