They stood in the center of the living room.
“Sit,” Bill commanded.
A low rumble emanated from the dog’s throat.
She watched them from the bedroom doorway.
“Maybe you should try using his name.”
The Border Collie’s ears perked up at the sound of Laura’s voice.
“A properly educated dog is the best kind. This one needs obedience training.”
“No, what we have here is a dominance issue.”
Bill grunted.
“Jake, sit,” Laura said evenly.
The dog did.
“Oh, for the love of Kobol, I think he just loves women.”
“Would you obey me if I commanded you?”
Bill woofed.
