He scribbled in the ship’s log.
“Any regrets?” she asked.
He looked up. “Hmm?”
“Regrets,” she repeated.
“Isn’t the goal to live life without them?” She was silent. “Personal or professional?” he asked.
“Personal.”
“I regret not making love to you more.”
She smiled softly at him. It was a good regret.
“And you?” he asked.
“I regret not telling you that I loved you sooner. Because I did, you know.”
“I knew.” He smiled at her. “One more,” he said quietly. His eyes held hers. “I regret never giving you flowers. I wish I could have given you flowers.”
