Blueberries and Tomatoes
Wrapped in each others arms, they sat together on the leather sofa.
“I miss Caprican blueberries. I should have appreciated them more,” he said, remembering their exquisite, sweet taste.
“Tomatoes,” she said. “Vine ripened tomatoes. I never imagined I’d lust after a tomato.”
“Lust, that’s a good word.” He tightened his embrace.
She laughed.
He loved the sound of her laughter.
“New world blueberries and tomatoes,” he said. “We’ll have them again someday.”
“Ya think?”
“I know.”
“I’ll bake you a pie.”
“I’ll plant your tomatoes.”
She looked up at him. Build our cabin?”
His eyes met hers. “I promise.”
