Dang racoon keeps getting into my birdfeeds and eating the sunflowers and the coon also dug up a clump of violets I planted under the tree that the feeders are hung up in

Re: sorry.... - racoons will kill cats...kat69mJune 22 2003, 10:04:54 UTC
Racoons wouldn't kill a big cat, but they do attack and kill housecats and barn cats... another reason I want to discourage the racoon from coming to dinner at my place... and I don't want a Racoon dinner... wild turkey I don't mind... but I don't want racoon served up with hamburger or road-kill helper.. LOL
Not scarey as long as you remember they are a wild animalkat69mJune 23 2003, 09:31:00 UTC
With a wild animal you don't startle them, you don't back them into a corner because they will come out fighting... just shine a flashlight into their eyes, and then wave it around and make some noise and they will disappear on the other side of the barbed wire fence that is around the pasture... that is what I did ...
no grenades... too messy....kat69mJune 23 2003, 09:28:58 UTC
Nope... don't have a grenade, don't want one, and not blowing up a raccoon that would make for a big mess... almost like the whales they blew up on a couple of beaches... yuckiepoo ...
ah haa... lead poisoning hmmm... via injection ?kat69mJune 22 2003, 10:02:04 UTC
the 22 is to give the racoon lead poisoning via injection .. I see...
or get a live trap from the DNR might work too... or.. for right now, I have stopped filing up the bird feeders with sunflower seeds hoping he will go elsewhere for his dinner ... like a cornfield and then he might just catch a dose of lead poisoning there ...
probably house train easy as some guys do... notttttttkat69mJune 23 2003, 09:27:27 UTC
So, no, probably couldn't house train the racoon, you don't want them as a pet, they get into everything. Curosity is just part of their nature and I know of a family that had a pet Racoon and they finally had to give it to the area Zoo because the raccoon would get into stuff while they weren't home....
I would say that trying to house train a racoon is like trying to house train some men .... just not doable... LOL .. they are better off left in the wild or put in the local zoo ...
