My father and I came to the same conclusions you did, and are mildly hopeful that this is yet another case of moderate out, hardcore in, and thus Democrat Win. People, as my father put it, are just angry. They don't know why, they don't understand why, and they really don't have any solutions, ideas, or really more than slogans and half baked concepts, but they want to do something. The problem is that the electorate is in danger of electing some very, very poor leadership (not that we've had great, but still) which will be unable to govern because their personal egos and philosophies are so utterly unable to compromise that they'll fail utterly at the legislative process. OF course, we'll all suffer for this.

Agreed!! About half of independents are centrists who should be turned off by candidates like O'Donnell. The other half tend to blow with the wind a bit (influenced by personality and current narratives). The lack of enthusiasm on the left is a huge and under-appreciated problem that the right doesn't have ( ... )
