I just watched the whole series and special. Love it and I love the soundtrack to them. And I love the letter at the end of the Special. If I received something like that I would gave up everything and ran to him in a second. I also think that this may not be the end to their relationship because after they explained everything to each other it is somehow like a new chapter for them to start things with new perspective ( because after revelations in the end of the Special how can they stay the same? I wouldn't) .

I loved this series so much. I totally binged on it over the weekend and was so happy to find out that there was a special episode! But before watching I'd been hesitant because I saw a few reviews online by viewers who were upset with the ending... and immediately thought oh nooo it's going to be a breakup ( ... )

i just watched the whole series and think that it was great. i assume the hamasakis end up together. don't you think that events in the sp occurred before the last 15 minutes in episode 11? in the last minutes of episode 11 yuka returned as mitsuo's wife in spring while in the sp mitsuo was waiting for her to come home in spring? :)
