do you think its unfair if another person knows more about you than you do about them? not because they're stalking you or anything, but  because you shell out the information, as mandated by a thing called socializing. one party knows about the other's life story, and yet the other one barely knows anything about the other.

is it safe to think

That is a possibility. I found many people to be like that.
I think I do it for certain people I'm with, so in a way there is a middle ground. But I think it depends on the situation.
