Ok last night I heard the worst thing ever on the Daily Show. They were showing a House debate about violence and video games and how it influences kids and what they should do about the rating systems. A senator preceeded to say that kids that live in the suburbs are not as easily influenced by video games like GTA and are not at risk compared

well, it is sociologically proven that violent crime is more prominent in urban areas, and while drug use is pretty much constant everywhere, drug sales are more prominent in urban areas as well

Ryan i think you are missing the point here buddy. Our system is racist. Alot of suburban white people committ many crimes they just dont get thrown in jail at the drop of a dime like black people do. Its a racist system and that guy wasnt helping

The media has alot of influence on everyone of all races, sexes and ages. My niece has a self esteem problem because she is mixed and has very course hair that doesnt grow fast but she sees all of these black dolls and black girls on tv with beautiful straight long hair and now she thinks hers is ugly. But I tell her its beautiful all of the time and I wish I had curly hair like hers. She is also uncomfortable with her facial features too and that really disturbs me. The bottom line is that the media is going to influence everyone, more emphasis and light seem to be put on people of certain races. But you also have to consider the fact that alot of the crime ridden places do not have alot of activities for the children to do to keep them out of trouble. All kids need sports, mentors, art, music, ect but not all of them have the luxury of easily experiencing these things because the communities just dont care or cant afford them. Its very sad.
