I've been itching to get back into working on my car and the boats now that the weather's nice. I spend a lot of time in my car, so I don't see why I shouldn't have a decent audio/video system set up in it. Car Audio and Electronics mag had this review of some 2008 Pioneer 6 3/4s ( Read more... )

This probably seems like a stupid question, but why is there a mobile audio "season"? With the exception of the boat, shouldn't car audio be able to be a year-round activity?

Summer. Kids have off of school and have jobs to support buying electronics to stick in the car. It's easier to work on the car in the driveway in June than in the garage in January. Plus, families take trips and like to upgrade audio/video systems for long rides.

Also, the CES is in January, and new models of electronics come out around Feb/Mar, so people start buying the new stuff in the spring.
