Election 2010

Apr 19, 2010 00:24

Election fever is sweeping Britain. Well, it's sweeping the media. Apparently my friends don't care.

It makes me so frustrated that they won't vote. That they "can't be bothered". One friend is a primary school teacher - she's not voting because it won't really affect her. Oh really?!

It sort of makes me want to cry.

I have the same problem with my friends. And then, after elections, they are the ones complaining about how the government functions. HELLO! You didn't vote, you don't get to bitch!

Funny because I am sure the Lib dems had a big thing on education. as one of my teacher friends pointed out.

A non voter is a vote for a side you probably will not want to win.

I lived through Tory rule in the 80's. It sucked.

I just keep sending the teacher friend links to online polls. It's basic, but it's better than nothing and it's important!

Back at university, one of my housemates and I marched our other housemate to the voting booth and forced her to vote. If only we could do that with everyone!
