email the professors and ask if you can be wait listed for the classes you want, or if they will manually sign you in on the first day of class. Or you could always check back every few days to see if a spot opens up. I did that when i registered for fall last spring. In august I checked to see if a spot happened to open up in the modern literature class i needed, and one had so i was able to register.
or you could always jump the gun and take classes for your major if they are open and skip gen eds for a semester.
congrats on getting into the honours college. I never would do it, because im half done with regular gen eds and because they make you have two years of a foreign language instead of one and i am completely fed up with French and looking forword to never having it again.
if you dont have a science gen ed, you should take bio 300 with me...it looks fun, and I think there were 5 spots open awhile ago.
