Dude. This is ridiculous. I wish the storm would just make up it's mind and hurry up. The worst part of it all is just waiting for it to move across and cause whatever damage it's going to. Don't sweat it .. your friends will be fine. The ones who were in the direct path got out, thankfully (Renee!) .. and the others are fine as well, I'm sure. People tend to survive hurricanes so long as they're a) not in a mobile home park, b) not stupid enough to play with downed power lines and c) smart enough to get out of the direct path.

Like I said, with a name like Frances, you had to know it was going to surrender before it got to the coast.. :)

It could have been a lot worse. The Bahamas are still under 6ft of water. Granted I write this as it's still happening, but the simple fact that it lost that much steam before it made landfall is a Godsend.

Though.. we have our friend Ivan (the terrible?) to worry about.. it's gonna be a one-two-three knockout for Florida this year. I wonder what all the costs are going to be when it's all said and done...

I'm alright although my cell doesn't work where I am (no reception!) Staying with super-chill aunt and uncle for a few days. House boarded-up (compliments of mi padre y yo). Waiting...

i'm ssooooooo bored with waiting in this cave (windows boarded up)of a house! we all just got in from going outside and playing football. it was cool cuz you could throw the ball in the air against the wind and then catch it again. fun stuff. good luck.
