Weird

Well, I graduated yesterday. It was a bit hectic in the morning. I wore the light purple dress, but since it was freezing outside, I threw on my wool cardigan. I thankfully was able to put on makeup with contacts in without stabbing myself in the eye. Took longer than expected and therefore I wasn't able to grab breakfast. Met up with everyone (who were all wearing sweaters or jackets of sorts underneath their robes.

*Sigh* It was misty when we got to the tent. We had no idea where we were going to take the class picture. Luckily I found my parents and where they were sitting. The class picture was taken on the hill of Severance Green. Stupid decision since the grass was wet and therefore slick, and a majority of the graduates were in heels. My friends and I had difficulties climbing up the hill to get to a spot. And then we had to stand and wait while other graduates trickled over. And then the stupid camera guy wasn't there. When he finally did, he kept on telling everyone to take a step back so everyone's faces could be seen. Keep in mind this is a wet hill that he wants us to take a step up backwards. My foot was sliding through my sandal the hole time and my toes were killing me as they attempted to keep me upright. My Dad got the whole thing on video. He got shots of me smiling for the camera and glaring at the camera man and becoming more and more disgruntled as time went on with no picture being taken. I'll watch it later and be amused.

Afterwards we had to line up inside Founders due to the chance of rain. I was able to grab two bites of a cake for my "breakfast". Then spent half an hour in the hallway standing around with other people in my row being clueless of how to line up for the procession. We finally got the show going, but when we left the building it had started to rain.

Finally got to my seat and the commencement began, while it started to totally downpour outside the tent. Our student speaker was great and funny. Our commencement speaker, Toni Morrison left much to be desired. She depressed the hell out of me (as I had feared). This was suppose to be one of the moments in my life where I want to hear encouragement, and something along the lines of "you spent 4 years studying, and you should be proud, now go off and prove what this expensive education has given you". No, we get, "you might not have a future since everyone is going to bomb the hell out of everyone else". I wouldn't have minded this if she was a good speaker. When I go to see someone speak, I want them to be at least prepared and know what they're talking about. She kept on pausing several seconds, looking down at her notes/speech, and then spoke. It was so not fluid.

We then finally got to the diplomas. I happily cheered for my friends =). I got up to the platform, and for some reason, since the girl who was suppose to be in front of me didn't show up, they said my name softly. *shrug* Oh well, I heard my friends cheer (well some of them: wirving couldn't hear my name being read, and banana_onigiri forgot that we were alphabetized by last name and not first =p) and I didn't trip, so I was happy =). Also, I was seated at the end of the row so I got to see and talk to all my friends who came after me before they got their diplomas.

It stopped raining hard, and was drizzling a bit when commencement ended. However, the entire ground was saturated and therefore as we proceeded out of the tent, my sandals were sinking in to the ground and being surrounded by water. I ran to the food tent (didn't bring my umbrella) and found my Mom and Grandma. Even though I hadn't eaten anything, my appetite was non-existent after the ceremony. My sister, Chen, and Dad didn't want to fight the crowd, and went to the Helpdesk. So yet again I ran out in the rain and went to the Library. There my boss Marge to plenty of pictures of Cindy and I. I showed my parents around the Helpdesk and introduced them to my special assistant boss Susan.

After that, we went back to my room to change. Sadly since it was so cold and raining, I wasn't able to meet up with friends or even take a picture in my dress. All of them are of me wearing my robe. And then we proceeded to pack all my stuff into the caravan. Surprisingly, there was still a lot of room left. Either I didn't bring that much stuff up, or I got rid of a lot of stuff. Afterwards, everyone went their separate ways.

I went to my room, and started taking down my wall decorations. Afterwards, my friends and I went to Curry Leaf and proceeded to stuff ourselves since we hadn't eaten anything. I went camera happy and took a lot of pictures, especially funny ones of Banana_Onigiri =p. We then went back to our dorms and then met up again to watch some Gackt on Zethia's compy. I again took a lot of funny pics of Zethai, Banana_Onigiri, and tiny_crash. We had a fun time critique Gackt and Gackt Job. It was a great night, and sad when I hugged everyone goodbye. I know I'll see everyone at Tiny_Crash's wedding, *sigh* but it won't be the same.

I had planned on waking up earlier to pack up the rest of my stuff and then leave, but since I went to bed at 2am, I decided to sleep until 7 instead of 6. Packing up the rest of my stuff took longer than expected, so I left half an hour late. It was weird looking at my blank room and driving away from Wellesley. Hopefully I will visit again to see Chicken, jollygoldfish, and theresesaga. There is the possibility that I can be sent from work to recruit. I then drove to McDonald's on orders from my Mom to eat breakfast. Afterwards, my car wouldn't start. As you can imagine I was freaking out and cursing my car. Thankfully I had the jumpstart kit with me and I remembered how the guy from the Wellesley motorpool and jumped my car. And the engine started up and didn't blow up! Go me!

I was a bit tired, but I didn't want to stop and rest on fear that I wouldn't be able to start the car up again. But I got home safely and dragged all my crap from my car and what was still in the caravan. There still kinda sitting on the steps to the basement since I'm to lazy right now to find a place for them. Must do it before parents come home.

I watched a lot of crappy tv aftewards. *sigh* nothing is on. And I miss my T3 line =*(. Modem is sooooo slow *sob*.

Hopefully everyone else made it to their destinations safely and without trouble. I attempted to send emails in firstclass, but it's too damn slow! So will be updated journal instead. Well off to veg some more =).
