I called my grandmother. I couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe it either.

Obligatory statement here: Oh my god I cannot believe that it was actually possible for the same race of people who used to be slaves to now rise to presidency. I can't believe it. Ten years ago this would have been impossible still. Now, it's like.. it's like, wow. I'm so happy, I just don't know what to say. We did it.

Yes, we absolutely DID. I am so proud, so happy, a little bit scared (change is great but I'm worried that wannabe assassins might spring up 8(;; ), but more proud and happy than scared.

Even if I didn't do much more than cast my wimpy little college student vote, I feel so proud and humble all at once to have taken part in electing the first black president in the history of the United States.

It was my very first election, and it went better than I had dared to hope for.

I feel just a smidge bad for Mccain, but I think if he were a little younger, had stayed a centrist, and had picked someone else as his VP, he would have had a better chance of winning. Then again, he made a joke about playing the "sad grandpa" so all those pouty faces might be something he's doing on purpose.

Honestly, I respect McCain plenty and thought his concession speech was very eloquent and touching. And his so-called 'fans' that kept booing him made me really angry. It was very disrespectful to him in my opinion.

Well, I'm Scottish and 17 so I can't vote at all, let alone for the President, but yeah.
