Title: Sanctuary

Summary: Toph runs away ...again.
Notes: bad grammer ahead but I'm trying to take my mind off everything.
Toph panted as she ran with all her might. Normally she would have been more aware of her surrounding but she was in 'fight or flight' mode so she was unaware that she was headed straight for Iroh. As she collided into him she let out an 'Umph!'.
" Let me help you." Iroh said as he helped her up.
" I don't need help." an aggravated Toph said.
Iroh sighed. Here we go again. " Where are you going in such a hurry?"
" Far away from here." she answered.
" Hmmm. Far away is very far. How about some tea before you go."
" I know what your doing."
" And what is that."
" You want to talk . Well I'm done talking.No one listens anyway."
" Running away will only make your parents think they are right."
" I'm not running away!"
Iroh raised an eyebrow.
" Okay,I'm running away but they treat me like a child. I thought after everything they would have a little respect for me. They would see beyond my blindness but they are the ones who are truly blind."
" Then you must try to make them see.Running away will not do this."
" But what if they never see me, the real me."
" My teashop will always be open to you. A place for you to come when you feel misunderstood and to talk."
Toph closed her eyes and quietly said. " Promise."
" I promise you even when others only see a blind young girl that I will always see a survivor with a strong spirit and even stronger body."
" I...thank you, even though you were really laying it on thick at the end."
Iroh chuckled. " Well a great friend like you is rare so I need to use my full arsenal."
" This is true." Toph gave a faint smile. " Is the tea still available?"
" Of course. The great thing about owning a tea shop is the neverending supply of tea." Iroh slightly drooled.
" What started this tea obsession?" Toph asked and as the walked back to Iroh's tea shop he told her.

Summary: Iroh watches as June leaves for a job.
Notes: post series.Angsty fluff.
He turns and watches her as she slips out of his bed. He notices the scars on her back.They are dark & deep. Iroh hopes one day June will trust him enough and talk about how they got there. They are not her only scars. She has them scattered everwhere but she never speaks of them.
He knew he loved her when he felt the rage build up in him at the thought of someone hurting her. He thinks she loves him but understands that she has taught herself not to love, not to give herself completely. He wonders if this because of her job or if something happened to her that shaped her that way. Probably a bit of both he decides.
He smiles as she quietly picks up her clothes. 'She's trying not to wake me,how cute'. He reminds himself to thank Toph again for playing matchmaker.
" Huh, I though I was more stealthy." June mumbles as she realizes Iroh is wide awake. " I've got a job out of town."
He knows she could be lying but he chooses to believe there is a job. Either way he will always be here.He will not leave her as he believes others have. She has awakened many things in him that were long dead. Desire mostly. He burns for her.
She bends over and kisses him deeply and whispers '' Till next time."
Then as quickly as she comes into his life ,she leaves again. Just like she always does. And as always he is left with a satisfied smile on his face but an ache in his heart.
