Firstly, I love you, and I love your taste in canons. A story you enjoy writing is probably one I will really enjoy reading, and I am so glad you signed up for Yuletide this year! My requests had some details in them, and if those gave you plenty to work with, read no more! If you would *like* more...
General story likes and dislikes:
I like gen, het, and fem/slash. I like queering narratives. I like fucking around with gender. I like plot, even though I can't write it, and I like character introspective. I like NC-17 and I like G. I like acknowledging when the narrative is *fucked all to hell*. I like adding in complexity in places it wasn't originally there.
I don't like heteronormativity, I don't like whitewashing in any form, I have a massive embarrassment squick, and I have problems with animal harm. I do not have bulletproof squicks except the embarrassment/humiliation, but prefer to have dubcon and/or noncon acknowledged as what they are. Characters who are not human do not need to suscribe to human morality, and I would prefer it if they did not. Deathfic will make me cry and lovingly curse you, but I definitely would prefer if nobody died in TAKE THE LEAD.
Take the Lead
I will have a Yuletide letter up, but the short form: when I say any, I actually do mean it. I like all of them. I want stories about all of them. The story of my heart and soul, however, is about Sasha. I would love to know how Sasha and Danjou and Ramos could pull off making a functional threesome. Alternately, Sasha/Morgan, YES SO HARD. But I say any, and I really do mean it.
What fascinates me most about this movie are the characters. My favorite scene in the entirety of the movie is That Tango Scene at the end. I love the agency Sasha has in the dance (even if they didn't actually discuss it with *her*). I like that the movie actually talks classism and racism, and would love if your story continued in that vein, especially for a Sasha/Morgan story.
Or, if none of these ideas appeal, a crossover with SAVE THE LAST DANCE would rock.
The Fast and The Furious
I will have a Yuletide letter up, but the short form: 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS is my favorite movie of the franchise, and the characters from it are the characters that I truly want stories about. Suki gen, Tej gen, Suki gen with Tej, Suki gen with Rome, Tej gen with Rome, Rome gen, Monica gen, Brian gen with Monica, Suki/Monica, Brian/Rome. Basically, I want any story I can get about these people. I like other movies, too! I like TOKYO DRIFT, and I love Dom, I adore Han. But 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS is the movie of my heart.
What I love here is the *fun* of it. I love how much they all enjoy themselves.
Rome is my favoritest ever, and no lie, any story that bashes him will make me cry, and any story that features him in a non-sidelined role will make me do a little dance in my chair. If you do not dig Rome like I do, I totally understand! He is something of an acquired taste. Suki or Tej, however, are totally made of win.
I do not like Dom/Brian, and I do not like Han/Sean. I do like Dom/Han, I do like Han/D.K., I do like Han/Twink, and would love TOKYO DRIFT stories.
L J Smith - The Forbidden Game
I will have a Yuletide letter up, but the short form: Dee is my favoritest character EVER. Any Dee story would be awesome. Dee gen, Dee/Audrey, Dee/Jenny, heck, Dee/Julian if you could pull it off. I ship Dee/Jenny/Julian like nobody's business. I also like Audrey on her own! Audrey gen, Audrey/Michael, I like Jenny gen, I like Julian gen, I like Jenny/Julian. I do not like stories that bash Tom in order to achieve Dee/Jenny or Jenny/Julian.
One of the reasons I love this series is that it acknowledges that love is kind of fucked-up. I love that Julian *is* treated as a threat, that for all that his love is completely genuine *it is terrifying*, and I love that Jenny refused to stop fighting him.
I would really, really like a story about the non-European aspect of Shadow Men; we have the canon that they are the djinn, as well as Julian being the Erlkonig. I would love a story about Jenny post-KILL realizing her own magic. I would love a Dee/Audrey story about the ways they got closer during KILL. I would love gen hijinks with the whole group.
But, for all that I love it, FORBIDDEN GAME kind of has some skanky race issues with Dee and Aba (hi, Magical Negro ftl), and so the Dee story I would really, really love would actually be about Aba and Dee, after Julian.
However, if none of these ideas appeal, I always did wonder what would've happened if Julian had actually called Jenny on breaking the promise she made at the end of HUNT...
Dubcon in this fandom, while not specifically encouraged, is kind of massively canon, and is thus totally allowed.
Simon Green - Nightside series
I will have a Yuletide letter up, but the short form: I love Razor Eddie. I love Shotgun Suzie, and I love their relationships with John. The ways they do and don't fuck each other up. Dead Boy amuses me intensely, and if I got a story about him I would love a rollicking plotty gen or a meditation on being dead, and what that means when you Know what's waiting. I like John quite a bit, but I'd like stories about these side characters, too, especially Paul/Polly gen. I'd love an exploration of his relationship with his sister.
What got me into NIGHTSIDE was John's wry, cynical kindness. What kept me invested was the side characters. My adoration for Razor Eddie is kind of boundless, and the levels on which I ship him with John -- and, in weird and complicated ways, with Suzie, don't judge me -- are *high*. I *adore* Suzie Shooter. I would love gen for her, I would love shippy fic with her and John, I, uh, would quite like kinda-sorta shippy fic with her and Eddie, especially since that would end up *being* about John.
I really like the Nightside's whole fucked-up noir *thing*, but just once, I would really like a story where everybody lives. Not pretending the Nightside is a happy place, is anything other than London's sick magical heart, but just this once, everybody lives.
