Title: When this fog lifts
Summary: Bruce will believe the impossible before the improbable.
Author's Notes: Title from Audre Lord's "Fog Report," which is one of my ultimate Bruce/Jason poems. Set during BATMAN 641.
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters described herein; DC has all.

It is impossible. But it is true.

"Oh, God," and how many times had he dreamed of this and woken to despair?

"Not quite. Wanna guess again?"

It cannot be true. It *cannot*.

He knows the feel of that smile against his mouth, the curve of Jason's lips against his teeth and the slick slide of his tongue, the way Jason shouts and moans and laughs through a sneer.

Son. Robin. *Jason*.

Jason is alive.

Jason is Red Hood.

Bruce wants to shout, to tear the world down, because he has never been so happy in his life and yet.

He had never been sure about Garzonas. He had hated himself for that lack of belief, for his loss of faith. There were moments when he wondered if Jason had been taken from him because of Bruce's doubt.

He does not doubt Red Hood. He knows.

There is a murderer standing in front of him wearing Jason's face. This is a criminal, a *monster*, and it is his Jay.

But Jason is alive, and Bruce cannot stop his joy.
