i always have bad bad experiences getting blood drawn. i have teeny tiny veins and they have to use those butterfly sharps they use on babies.

one really good nurse (actually, they're not nurses, are they? they just dress like nures) looked at my arm one morning and told me to go outside and drink a half litre of water, wait a half hour and come back.

your turtle blood/veins might be at least partly about being dehydrated.

It might be due to dehydration. I am pretty sure the slow oozing blood day I was dehydrated. But I usually drink A LOT of water everyday. I am always thristy. If I go 2 hours without any water, I feel it.

god, I got dizzy just reading about it. I can handle getting it done myself but I can't watch anyone else get blood drawn -- it makes me dizzy and nauseated. Once during fieldwork (talking to/watching doctors and med students) I almost fainted.... I hope you feel better and have a better experience next time.
