I came home early from work today (neither of my students were in today) to meet the guy to replace all our locks. While I waited for him I got all our little seedlings into pots on the deck. We'll see what goes nuts and what doesn't this year. Good luck with your gardens and pots!

Have you successfully grown lavender before? I can't keep it going to save my life. I have no idea what it needs.

This reminds me of something I want to post in my journal...

I had a lavender plant for several years in the herb garden. I didn't do anything special to it - just watered the garden and occasionally used Miracle Grow. It flourished until I stopped thinning the Mint -- apparently, unlike Chives, Lavender can't hold it's own against Mint. (The herb bed gets full sun, btw). I'm hoping that my new plant will do as well as the old one -- here's hoping it wasn't just dumb luck that the other plant survived!
