I note that the cameraman did not in fact warn me that the flash was about to go off. I believe that he has sufficiently learned his lesson, and suspect the bloodstains will come out eventually...
Once either the camera had been extracted from the photographer's innards or a new one had been procured somewhere, I was informed by the survivors that this stance was somehow vital to proper costume-wearing. Something like training kata, apparently; this is apparently one of the forms an individual is expected to take before learning the actual art of sugar extortion?
